So, for some reason the first four years of the LR3 and first three of the Range Rover Sport did not offer a heated steering wheel as an option.  Here is the rotary coupling unit from the 2009 LR3 and Range Rover Sport as well as the LR4 and 2010-2013 Range Rover Sport L320 which supports steering wheel heating.
