This is a brand new genuine BMW Auxiliary Connection Retrofit Cable for a BMW E39 5 Series (2003 model year), E46 3 Series (2003-2006), E60/E61 5 Series (2004-2007), E63/E64 6 Series (2004-2007), E83 E83 LCI X3 (2004-2010), E53 X5 (2003-2006), and E85 E86 Z4 (2003-2007).  We saw this and thought, "What a neat cable that is.  I wonder what it does?", and thus, we ordered it in.  I can tell you it's a genuine BMW cable kit, and appears to connect to your monitor through your glove box.  The kit includes a protected cable (roughly 36") attached to a 12 PIN harness on one end and the input device, 4 plastic holders, two screws, and an input plate.
